My Holy Grail, Affordable Concealers

Monday, February 13, 2017

I'm the type of person who finds a concealer that they love and use nothing but that product for months on end. I thought that that the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer was my perfect match, but I recently discovered these two concealers and I've been using them non-stop ever since. Not only are the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer and Essence Stay All Day Concealer perfect for covering my problem areas and staying in place, but they're both incredibly affordable as well. To hear what I have to say about these two essential products - keep reading!

For Covering Blemishes - Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer

I discovered this concealer after seeing many bloggers rave about its intense pigmentation and lasting power, and as someone who suffers from frequent blemishes and redness, I instantly knew that it'd be worth trying. I certainly wasn't disappointed, as this concealer has been a staple in my makeup bag and I've gone to the trouble of repurchasing it numerous times, despite it not being sold in the UK.

Something that initially surprised me with this product is how easily blendable it is, due to the creamy formula. It isn't a struggle to apply and blends easily across the skin, setting to provide an almost satin finish that isn't cakey or too heavy. The pigmentation is also insane and covers my blemishes with ease - something that I thought was virtually impossible. This is definitely the best concealer I've found for camouflaging spots, and since it lasts throughout the day I don't have to worry about touching it up.

For Under My Eyes - Essence Stay All Day 16 Hour Long Lasting Concealer

This is another great and budget-friendly concealer that I use every single day, being a firm favourite in my collection. I'm a huge fan of Essence cosmetics, as you've probably gathered as I frequently mention their makeup on my blog, and it blows me away how they can maintain such a high standard of products whilst being affordable. This product is no exception, and it's possibly one of my favourite products of theirs that I've ever tried.

This concealer is definitely lighter in consistency than the Catrice one, so I find that it works better underneath my eyes, ensuring that it won't produce a cakey or heavy effect. I can't test if it settles into creases or not, as I'm a teenager and fine under-eye lines aren't an issue for me, but from its lightweight formula I'd expect it to not be clingy under the eyes. It's a very pigmented product and doesn't budge out of place, meaning my under-eyes can stay corrected throughout the day.

Both of these concealers come from affordable makeup brands, meaning the packaging isn't the most lavish or elaborate. Both concealers come in plastic tubes that are minimalistic yet efficient - their purpose is to contain the concealer and they do just that, ensuring that the price doesn't rise. I've also found with budget beauty brands that the shade ranges aren't always the most extensive. However, both the Catrice and Essence concealers are great options for people who are naturally fair and struggle to find products to match their skin without looking orangey, as the shades are all fairly light.

I own the Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer in 020 Light Beige, which is a perfect match for me, particularly when my skin is slightly tanned. The Essence Stay All Day Concealer is in 10 Natural Beige, which is slightly paler than what I'd normally go for but is perfect for creating a bright, illuminated look under the eyes.

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my holy grail concealers which I use religiously. As I said at the start, I'm always looking for new products to try out, so I'd love to hear what concealer you can't live without down in the comments. Thanks for reading this post and I'll see you again on Sunday!

Love from Daisy x
